Orchestral performances of “Final Fantasy” video game music are new territory for the National Center for the Arts' upcoming season.
The NAC Orchestra will perform its “Final Symphony,” a debut performance of music from video game soundtracks, from Jan. 10 to 11, 2025, according to the Ottawa-based performing arts organization.
Other highlights of the 2024/2025 season include English Theater's production of Salesman in China, which will be performed at the Stratford Festival from January 16 to 25, 2025, and a collaboration with Halifax Theatre. and “Controlled Damage,” a civil rights story focused on Viola Desmond, which was produced. Neptune Theater, running February 13-22, 2025.
The season kicks off with Sphere, a 10-day festival from September 10 to 20, featuring Indigenous performers Jeremy Dutcher, soprano Renee Fleming, and Canadian playwrights David Yee and Bernie Stapleton. Newly commissioned radio plays and other artists will appear.
On September 19th and 20th, NAC Indigenous Theater will present “Homelands,” a multimedia dance piece honoring Indigenous women, and “Raven Mother,” a joint production with NAC Dance in memory of the late Manitoba Cree Elder Margaret Harris. ” and other shows to celebrate its 5th anniversary. , from November 21st and 22nd.

NAC will also continue to offer $15 tickets to Indigenous spectators and those under the age of 30.
