Apple is once again announcing new technology.
Bloomberg reported that 18 months have passed since Apple introduced a new variant of the iPad, but that period ended on Tuesday.
The new iPad will be available in 11-inch or 13-inch models and will be equipped with an M4 chip for improved performance, 9 to 5 Mac reported. Equipped with an OLED display, it will be smaller and lighter than the current model.
Apple held an online event called “Let Loose” to show off new technology the Cupertino, California-based company will release next week.
iPad Pro
The 11-inch iPad is 5.3mm thick and starts at $999, while the larger iPad is 5.1mm thick and starts at $1,299. Apple says it's the thinnest product it's ever made.
The OLED display is called an “Ultra Retina XDR display” and will be thinner than traditional LCDs with an anti-glare nano-textured glass option.
iPad Pro will also have a better 12MP camera with adaptive flash.
Mac Rumors reports that the device will be available in silver or space black, and the case will be made from 100% recycled aluminum.

iPad Air
The company is redesigning the 11-inch iPad Air and introducing a new 13-inch version. According to Mac Rumors, the company says the tablet is “designed to offer the features pioneered in the iPad Pro at a more affordable price.”
The iPad is equipped with an M2 processor and is available in four colors: New Blue, New Purple, Starlight, and Space Gray. It also has a 100% recycled aluminum case.
Use Magic Keyboard and Apple Pencil.
Mac Rumors reports that the 11-inch iPad Air will start at $599, and the 13-inch will start at $799, with prices increasing based on storage.

USA Today reports that the current iPad 10-inch will still be available, but at a lower price starting at $349.
new apps, updates
Two popular programs, Final Cut Pro 2 and Logic Pro 2, are receiving major updates. According to TechRadar, both will use his AI capabilities for music and video editing.
Final Cut Pro lets you record, edit, and share professional videos directly from your iPad, and renders 2x faster than before. There's also the option to do live multicam shooting, where you can connect up to four cameras at once. You can also control exposure, white balance, and focus from your iPad.
Final Cut Camera lets you connect multiple iPhones and iPads, so you can shoot from different angles and sync your videos from production to editing.
Session Player uses AI to add new keyboards and string instruments. You can also split channels to separate different parts of a single track.

The new Magic Keyboard is thinner and lighter, but maintains a floating design. Matches the color of your iPad Pro. There's a feature row with a variety of controls, an aluminum palm rest, and a large trackpad.
According to USA Today, it's thinner and lighter than previous Magic Keyboards.
The company says the new Magic Keyboard “feels just like using a MacBook.”
The Magic Keyboard will be priced at $299 for the 11-inch version and $349 for the 13-inch version.
The company is rolling out the new Apple Pencil Pro. Press the barrel and a tool palette will appear. It will also be equipped with a haptic engine. It's also included in the “Find My” app, and can magnetically pair, charge, and store with your iPad, Mac Rumors reported.
The gyroscope on the pencil allows users to change the size of the brush they are using, among other features.
Apple Pencil Pro costs $129.
Both the keyboard and pencil can be ordered now and will be available next week.
