PARKERSBURG — The incumbent in the West Virginia House of Representatives District 11 received the highest percentage of local candidates from April 1 to April 29, according to financial reports filed with the West Virginia Secretary of State. Collected many donations.
The preliminary preliminary report is scheduled to be submitted on May 3rd and covers the month leading up to the May 14th primary election. All Republican incumbents in House Districts 10, 11, 12, 13 and 14, which represent Wood County, are running unopposed for the party's nomination in November. No Democratic members filed to run in the primaries in the 10th, 11th, 12th, and 13th Congressional Districts. Democrat Jim Marion filed in the 14th District.
Representative Vernon Criss, a Republican from the 12th District and chairman of the House Finance Committee, has donated $11,950 during the period, has no expenditures, and has donated $56,364 since the beginning of the election year. He reported a balance of $56,264.
He cited donations of less than $250 from West Virginia Farm PAC, Curtis Wilkerson Jr. and Chris Hall for a total of $450, $2,800 from West Virginia Bankers PAC in Charleston, and Wet Virginia Hospital in Charleston. The association donated $1,400 and the Wet Virginia Hospital Association in Charleston donated $1,000 each. He received $500 each from Iron Workers Local 787 in Parkersburg, RPAC in Charleston, Elevance Health PAC in Washington, D.C., and West Virginia Labor Group, GO PAC and Erie Insurance in Erie, Pennsylvania.
Representative Scott Heckert (R-13th) reported $7,800 in contributions during the period, $25,370 in contributions since the beginning of the election year, $1,936 in expenses, and a balance of $14,353.
He received less than $250 from the United Mine Workers of America PAC, George K. Dettinger and L. Gil White, and each from the Parkersburg-Marietta Construction & Construction Trades PAC and the Charleston Construction & Construction Trades. They listed donations of $1,800 and $1,000 each. Ironworkers Local 787 in Parkersburg and the Operators Political Education Committee in Charleston provided $500 each from American Electric Power, West Virginians for Coal and the West Virginia Republican Labor Caucus.
District 11 Representative Bob Fehrenbacher reported contributions during the period of $3,500 and an ending balance of $13,547. He reported no expenses and donations since the beginning of the year of $14,103.
He received $100 from Curtis Lee Wilkerson Jr., $1,400 from the West Virginia Hospital Association, $1,000 from Harry H. Esbenshade of Vienna, West Virginia Realtors PAC of Charleston and John Thomas of Vienna. reported donations of $500 each.
Incumbent Representative Bill Anderson (R-10th) reported $100 in contributions during the reporting period, $33,940 in campaign year-to-date contributions, and a cash balance of $19,995. He reported expenses of $125.
The $100 was a donation from the West Virginia Farm Bureau PAC.
Representative Dave Fogin (R-14th) and Mr. Marion did not report any donations or expenditures during this period. Marion reported $105 in contributions to the election since the beginning of the year.
Financial reports by state Sen. Donna Boley (R-Pleasants), whose 3rd Senate District includes Wood County, were not available in the online disclosure filing system.
