CARTHAGE, Mo. — The Carthage R-9 School District has announced that Sonora Jones, instructor of the ProStart Culinary Arts class at the Carthage Tech Center (CTC), has been named the 2024 Missouri Family and Consumer Sciences Educator of the Year (MoEFCS) I announced that I was selected as a teacher.
This honor recognizes Jones' dedication and contributions to career and technical education. According to her district officials, she has garnered recognition from her colleagues and community members, who recognize her commitment to educational advancement and place her among teachers and equity commissioners in the district. It was recommended by a member of the association.
In his role with CTC, Mr. Jones played a key role in the development and success of the CTC catering program, district officials said.
“Mrs. Jones is the epitome of a quality educator. She is always looking for ways to improve her instruction and provide new learning opportunities for her students. She is dedicated to her students and those around her. , is a top-notch instructor who goes above and beyond. There is rarely a chance she doesn't jump at the opportunity to participate in a building-wide initiative or to thank our staff through the capabilities of our students,” said CTC Director Dr. Gage Tiller. said.
Jones will be formally recognized at the MoEFCS Awards & Recognition Luncheon on July 23, 2024.
