Monday, May 6th
brunswick county commission We are scheduled to meet twice on Monday. The 9 a.m. meeting is a budget workshop meeting. There are no proposed tax increases, and there will be changes to sewer and wastewater rates. See agenda here. The regular meeting of the commissioners will be held at 3 p.m. The agenda includes presentations on National Hurricane Preparedness Week and Longrood Road sewer funding.
of Oak Island City Council A special meeting will be held at 6 p.m. The City Council will hear presentations from businesses proposing to help the town find a new town manager. There will be discussion and consideration as to who will be selected. Live stream the meeting here.

pender county commission Meet at the Pender County Public Meeting Room, 805 S. Walker Street, at 4 p.m. The agenda includes a presentation on the National Drinking Water Standard for PFAS and approval of FEMA's acquisition program policy.
Cape Fear Public Utilities Board It will meet at 9 a.m. at Government Center 230 Dr. Items on the agenda include the adoption of the 2024-25 budget ordinance and the exclusive procurement of water quality analysis panels for the Monterey Heights production wells from Swan Analytical USA for $40,374.

New Hanover County Board of Education will hold a special meeting behind closed doors at 1 p.m. at the Board of Education Center, 1805 S. 13th St., to hear the student's appeal.

Tuesday, May 7th
Surf City Town Council Meet at the Surf City Municipal Complex, 214 W. Florence Way, at 4:30 p.m. The agenda includes considering the approval of the 2024-2025 budget ordinance and approving the revised coastal forest land ordinance.
wilmington city council We will meet at City Hall, 102 N. Third St., at 6:30 p.m. The meeting will be live streamed here. The agenda includes:
- Public Hearing: An ordinance amending the City of Wilmington's official city planning map to rezone the property at 203 52nd Street from an R-10, medium-density single-family district to an R-5, medium-density mixed-residential district.
- A resolution authorizing the City Administrator to enter into a gap financing agreement with Terroir Development LLC for affordable workforce housing utilizing $440,000 in HUD HOME funds.
Brunswick Board of Elections The committee will meet at 5 p.m. in the David Sandifer Administration Building, 30 Government Center Drive, Nebraska. The special meeting will discuss absentee voting for the second primary election and other items as needed. You can live stream it here.
New Hanover County Board of Elections They will meet at 5 p.m. in the Longleaf Room, 1241 Military Blockade Road, to review absentee ballot applications and discuss other election-related matters as needed. Wilmington Metropolitan Area Planning Organization There will be a special gathering at Drumtree Park at 11 a.m. to tour the Cape Fear Memorial Bridge Preservation Project.
Brunswick County Board of Education We will meet at 6 p.m. in the conference room at the Center for Applied Science and Technology (COAST), 1109 Old Ocean Highway. The meeting will be live streamed here. The agenda includes:
