FISHERS, Ind. (WISH) — A sports restaurant serving chicken, burgers, po-boys, desserts, cocktails and other delicious dishes will open in Fishers on Monday.
Walk-On's Sports Bistreaux has two other locations in Indiana. One is on Grant Street in West Lafayette. There's also one on Lewis and Clark Parkway in Clarksville, just across the Ohio River from Louisville, Kentucky.
Walk-Ons opened a store in the 200 block of South Meridian Street in downtown Indianapolis in May 2023. That location closed in January.
Former Purdue and NFL quarterback Drew Brees was previously named as one of the financial backers of the franchise restaurant's expansion. Walk-On franchise owners Todd Johnson, Wade Kornbliss and NFL Hall of Famer Derrick Brooks of Trident Hospitality are opening a new location in Fishers.
A news release about the new Fishers location states, “The restaurant is located at 11655 Fishers Corner Blvd. in Fishers, Indiana, a short drive from downtown Indianapolis.”
The address is northwest of the 116th Street interchange on Interstate 69, across from the Target department store's former O'Charley's Restaurant and Bar location.
Local chamber of commerce leaders and walk-on operators will hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 10:30 a.m. Monday. The restaurant opens at 11 a.m. Monday. The first 100 customers will receive free walk-on food for a year.
