Barry Mainz talks about visibility, security and risk management for assets outside of IT

According to Forescout CEO Barry Mainz, a networking-centric approach can more effectively address growing cyber risks and improve security management of OT and IoT devices.

He said a cybersecurity strategy centered around asset visibility, classification and risk assessment will help clients manage vulnerabilities and quickly respond to incidents related to OT and IoT devices. Recent regulatory requirements, such as those from the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, have increased the need for organizations to ensure compliance and minimize risks regarding OT and IoT devices, Mainz said (see: ForeScout hires Barry Mainz as fourth CEO since 2020)
“Customers are looking to us to report on their device, what it is and the risks associated with it,” Mainz said. “And when there is a breach, customers want us to tell them what happened and a little more detail about it. And we can provide that at scale. ”
