The league is also expanding its use of devices during practices. Defensive backs and receivers join the position groups required to wear caps during all contact practices.
Starting in 2022, the NFL will require some players to wear caps during practice. The only remaining position groups not required to wear caps during practice are quarterbacks, kickers and punters.
-Offensive lineman Corey Cunningham, who played for three NFL teams during his five-year career, has died. He was 28 years old.
Police said Cunningham was found dead Thursday at his home in Clifton, New Jersey. Officers went to Cunningham's home after his family reported they could not reach him.
The cause of death is still under investigation. Police said there was no evidence of foul play.
