BLACKSBURG, Va. (WSET) — Some Virginia Tech students took to the campus lawn Friday morning in a statement in support of Gaza liberation.
“All students, take to the GLC lawn now!” VT Coalition for Palestine said in an Instagram post (@vt4palestine) calling on students to join the lawn as part of the Gaza liberation encampment. Ta.
The encampment is set up on the grassy area between the Graduate Life Center and Squires Student Center on the VT campus.
One photo shared on The photograph shows several tents set up.
The camp's clear list of demands was clearly written on a banner hung on one of the tents, which they shared on their Instagram stories.

“Choose a side,” the group said in the same Instagram story, referring to the school. “Liberation or genocide?”
VTCFP further elaborated on its goals for the camp in the caption of an Instagram post inviting students to attend the camp. As the Palestinian conflict stretches into its 200th day, the group accused Virginia Tech of colluding with other U.S. institutions in the “widespread destruction and annihilation of the Palestinian people.”
The group is demanding an end to that collusion.
“No more. No more,” VTCFP said.

They said the camp is not limited to students only and is open to anyone.
The encampment at Virginia Tech is one of dozens of protests taking place on college campuses across the country. Hundreds of protesters have been protesting on campuses including Columbia University, Harvard University and Princeton University as the movement has grown over the past week.
ABC13 has reached out to Virginia Tech for a statement but has not yet received a response.
