Something of a spiritual sequel to the great work of 2020 hidden beyond time, sophia the traveler This is also basically a hidden object game. where is wally. While it offers plenty of wholesome entertainment, it doesn't have as many features as Crazy Monkey's original, but it comes at a lower price.
Using the analog stick to control the cursor, your goal is to click on specific objects within each digital landscape. On the right side of the screen you'll see a list of items you need to discover, along with some general hints as to where they can be found. Then use the trigger to zoom the camera and the D-pad to cycle through searchable objects. It has an intuitive and simple interface that has everything I need, but I wish there was an option to “Hold this button to make the cursor move faster.”
What the game doesn't tell the player is that some parts of the environment are interactive and likely have secrets hidden within them. For example, in the first stage, the player is asked to find some invisible objects. Instead, players must click on specific parts of trees to remove leaves and tap cabinet doors to open them and reveal the objectives inside. That's not a big deal when you realize that the game requires you to click on almost everything. It's just a little confusing, misleading, and frustrating at first.
In fact, these subtle interaction behaviors are part of what gives this game its charm. If you choose a human, they might say something. Click on the fishing net and fish will appear. If you tap the sewer lid, something may appear from the depths. Hitting the flower bed several times will ruin the flowers. These may not yield any hidden items, but are small rewards in themselves.
To be honest, I don't necessarily have a problem with Sofia's trip, but I can't help but compare it. hidden beyond time, and how amazing the experience is. He is missing two important features here. Sophia's Game: No soundtrack, no map creation features.calm ambient song hidden beyond time These beautiful, epic tracks were so good that I wanted them to play in the background all day long, no matter what I was doing. There is nothing here but the sound of birds chirping and waves crashing. Without a compelling soundtrack, the whole experience feels a little empty.
Each of the 10 stages increases in size and complexity, but not having the ability to create and upload your own stages seems like a missed opportunity. To be fair, the sub-$10 price point easily justifies this, but especially if you've intentionally created a hint that has nothing to do with the item you need to look for. Part of the fun was having fun with the custom maps we created.
As I said, there's nothing wrong with it. sophia the traveler, I wish there was something more. However, although there is no dedicated multiplayer mode, this is one of the best games to play with a spouse, kids, or someone who doesn't necessarily play the game but can join in the search for objects. Casual, friendly and wholesome, it's a calming and fun experience.

Essentially Hidden Through Timelight, Sofia the Traveler offers plenty of casual, wholesome fun without the bells and whistles of other search games.
