Game developer Fallen Leaf recently partnered Working with Studios Extraordinaires to develop 2023 sci-fi shooter thriller film and television adaptation Fort Solis.
Fort Solis, developed by Fallen Leaf and Black Drakkar and published by Dear Villagers, takes place on the far side of Mars. There, engineer Jack Leary responds to a routine alarm at the titular outpost, but his night takes a turn for the worse from there.
André Hedetoft and Andreas Troedsson of Studios Extraordinaires will co-direct the Fort Solis adaptation. In this exclusive video (which you can watch in the player above or in the embed below), the creative duo update fans of the game on the development of the adaptation and explain why they're making it.
Hedetoft and Troedson were both shocked Fort Solis trailer It was announced at Gamescom last year and when we played the game we knew we had to be filmmakers to turn it into a movie.
“It's a super cinematic immersive experience to play, and we have amazing characters and actors that bring it to life in the game, and we have some really creative people behind it. I think this is just a dream project.” said Hedetoft.
“This story also features some of the most interesting characters I've ever seen, and you, the viewer or player, will be faced with some very interesting moral dilemmas, ethical questions, and conflicts with sci-fi thriller mysteries.” You will get caught up in it.”
Tolleson added, “I think you and I both love science fiction and we love thrillers. When you have a few characters in a very isolated location, I mean, Fort Solis has all the elements. And the thrill is that you don't really know who's right and who's wrong.”
“What we're doing now is the most important and most creative part of the whole process,” Tredison said. “What's the purpose of doing this as a movie? And how do we bring this game to a new audience who haven't played the game, or who will probably play it after watching the movie, or vice versa?” Can you tell me?”
Hedetoft added that he now spends a lot of time playing the game over and over again and talking about “the stories we want to tell.” Is this story based on the game, or is it an expansion? Or does it tell the story of a completely different encounter on Mars? I don't think I can reveal that yet. ”
No cast has been decided yet, but Hedetoft said he is in talks with “a few actors that I'm really looking forward to.” There is currently no word on whether Troy Baker or Julia Brown, who starred in the game, will return for the adaptation.
