In recent days, questions have been raised about whether LSU QB Jaden Daniels really wants to play for the Commanders, starting with Washington's reckless fourth-quarter back square dance. Specifically, some think he might want to reunite with Antonio Pierce with the Raiders.
Currently appearing on nightcap show Daniels spoke with Shannon Sharpe and Chad Johnson about the possibility of ultimately landing in Las Vegas.
“I don't know how they'll pull it off” Daniels said. “But I mean, that's above my pay grade. . . . AP, as a person, is the right coach for that team. You know, just him and the intensity that he brings. He challenges people. He challenged me as an 18-year-old, so I know if I should go to the Raiders — I'm not saying I'm going there, I'm not saying I want to go, I'm going to go wherever my name is called. I want to — if I go to the Raiders, I know he's going to challenge me as soon as I step in.”
It will be a big challenge for the Raiders to move up from 13th to 2nd place, but it is unclear whether they will make a serious effort.
Much of it depends on whether the commander accepts him. Despite his public comments, it's possible he privately wants another destination.
Either way, it's hard to imagine Daniels lasting much longer than the No. 3 pick. Whether he's drafted by the Commander, the Patriots, or someone moves on, Daniels won't be on the board for long.
