This week's Courier Journal Male Athlete of the Week nominees talked about the baseball diamond and the lacrosse field.

Voting for The Courier Journal's Male Athlete of the Week is underway. Voting closes on Thursday at 6pm and the winner will be announced on Friday.

Manual junior Nicholas Ballard led the Crimsons to a 9-0 win over Shelby County after pitching a complete game. He had eight strikeouts and allowed two hits. Ballard also had two hits in four at bats.

Colin Knoop, Fern Creek, baseball

Fern Creek senior Colin Knoop earned a win against Whitefield Academy with four no-hitter innings and six strikeouts. Knoop won with three hits, including a home run, and five RBIs.

louis lindgren, desales, lacrosse

DeSales sophomore Louis Lindgren had three goals and one assist as the Colts defeated Shelby County 9-7. Lindgren also picked up three ground balls and recorded two takeaways.
