gap game
With the great video game drought seemingly upon us, I'm sure I'm not the only one looking back at my backlog and starting to prioritize what to play. I'm not going to pretend that I'm not secretly happy about the lack of new releases. Because this means that you finally have time to play games that you weren't able to play before.
Elden Ring is my game of choice. I never really played him for more than an hour or two. I also knew it would take a long time to get into the game and beat it, so I was starting to think I wouldn't be able to get it anymore.
However, the fact that we're happy to have no new releases obviously raises some questions. Is it any wonder that lesser-known games don't all sell as well, just as an average person only has time to play two or three big games a year? Would it have been better to create a smaller game that would fit into a niche?
No one wants to create a “backlog filler,” but again, I'd much rather buy something that only lasts 10 hours instead of 80 if it's affordable. This is a difficult question. Because even though I play six big games a year that I'm interested in, I still don't feel like I've cleared my backlog. With Elden Ring DLC on the way, that's not the case…

I recently purchased and finished reading Unicorn Overlord and thought it was a breath of fresh air. This is a very interesting combat system, and the idea of commanding an army that is constantly recruiting new characters really appealed to me. The only one I think is similar (but isn't) is The Last Remnant in that you manage a group of allies in turns. fashion based on.
My only criticism is that the story is very weak. This is strange because Vanillaware's previous game 13 Sentinels: Aegisrim had one of the best stories I've ever seen in a game.
I really enjoyed that streamlining, and while it was a meaty game, it felt like everything you did was improving your character or army, compared to Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, which was mostly immersed in side content. It was done.

GC: Sure, it's strange that 13 Sentinels had a great story but weak strategic combat, but Unicorn Overlord is the opposite.
store advice
I'm looking to buy a new gaming PC by October 2025 because my current computer is not compatible with Windows 11. Could someone please recommend a PC website where I can build a PC for you? I bought the PC tower I'm currently using from YoYoTech in 2013 and recently took a look at his website for the company. I found out that they currently only manufacture computers for eSports. So you can't buy individual PC towers like you did in 2013.
I didn't want to make it because I didn't have the confidence to make it myself. On the PC tower he was going to spend between £1,500 and £2,000. The PC he bought in 2013 cost him £1,500, but when you factor in the costs of things like graphics cards, he found he was spending more than he was then. Gaming PCs are used for other purposes such as web page design, image and video editing, Microsoft Office, and printing.

PS: I noticed that the lead actress in the new Fallout TV series plays Jinx, one of the main characters in the Arcane TV series.

incredible reality
First off, I love my copy of Horizon Call Of The Mountain. I played the demo version and really liked it, but I was a bit short on money so I had to stop buying the game. Thankfully, Gran Turismo 7 is so great in VR that it blows me away.
It seems a little sad that Sony let the PlayStation VR2 go, even though the game was done right. VR is amazing. In fact, I find it hard to go back to regular gaming now.
PlayStation VR2 isn't perfect, but one of the things I like about it is how quickly and easily it is to get into games. I've played VR on PC and it seems much more playful. But there's some great stuff in PC VR, and I hope some of it comes to PlayStation VR2 someday. Have fun playing the game, everyone!

Return of a true gentleman
So Level-5, longtime Nintendo collaborator and creator of Professor Layton, Inazuma Eleven, and more, appears to have postponed its planned April showcase until the summer. The showcase promised new games and the rest of 2024, with a new Professor Layton coming next year.
Could this have something to do with the Switch 2 being delayed until next year, and then the announcement being delayed until (presumably) later this year? Perhaps this signals a summer announcement for the console? Just thinking out loud here…
Steven
GC: perhaps. Level-5 has been a hit for a while, so I hope it's okay.
I fall in love
My wife loved the Fallout TV series, but knew nothing about video games. Without her knowledge, I have played the game in front of her before. But her only recognition was that she rolled her eyes at me wearing a gaming headset, but she had no clue. Needless to say, pointing out certain aspects of her video game did not impress her. I don't think I'm the only one who gets that “bless him” look from my girlfriend's partner. But that doesn't stop us from being geeks.
She also enjoyed The Last Of Us TV series, but never understood my smug view of knowing the entire plot. At least she couldn't predict the story in Fallout, which also helped the show.
The reason Fallout works as a TV show is because you don't have to be a gamer to enjoy it. This is a truly amazing show, unlike anything else on television. The Fallout TV series could have easily been a disaster. Fortunately, it was able to attract the right talent to come on board, and has pretty much become a benchmark for future video game adaptations.

never seen before
This is a reply to an article about the Fallout show. I have never played or been involved in the Fallout world. The whole premise is new to me.
I'm happy to say that it's a wonderful piece of work.
If you don't know the story and the characters, you won't be bound by expectations and won't fall into the trap of comparing game and TV show characters.
The show itself is well produced with a cast as well. Its dark humor comes through beautifully, and its perspective on a post-apocalyptic world is both surprising and disturbing. I really love it…I'd love to see the next series!

GC: All of the main characters are unique to this show.
show of the year
I still have a sealed copy of Fallout 3 Game of the Year Edition that I bought back when Zavvi was on sale, but I've never played a Fallout game.
Me and my partner watch a lot of TV and luckily we like pretty much the same things. This year, we watched 20 of her TV shows. Shows like:
For All Mankind Season 4
changeling
Monarch: Legacy of Monsters
Reservation Dogs Season 2
Halo Season 2 (meh)
bear
slow horse season 3
true detective night land
masters of the air
The best Fallout TV show is already on the air, but it's not finished yet. Just watch one episode every night. From the moment GC showed me the reveal trailer, I thought it was aesthetically striking, and it didn't disappoint me (thank you Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy).
There are probably some easter eggs that I don't understand or realize, and I'm sure fans of the Fallout games are getting something special out of it, but still, for me it's already It stands as the highlight of this year's television.

I think Dragon's Dogma 2 is my game of the year so far. I know it's pretty much the same game as before, but I've been playing it almost non-stop since it came out and it's still not enough.

Despite the controversy surrounding Stellar Blade, I have a good feeling after finishing the demo that it's going to be something like Returnal and ultimately one of the best PlayStation 5 exclusives. I think he will be an unexpected candidate.
