RENO, Nev. (COLO) – Millions of people across the country are expected to travel by plane for spring break. The local Reno-Tahoe airport is expected to see 16,000 travelers per day, an increase of 1,000 from last year.
The airport is expected to have 20 busy times, with more than 16,000 people using the airport. You can arrive early to beat the crowds, but it's best to plan ahead.
“This is going to be a great time. If you're close by when you want to leave, there's going to be a lot of deals on flights,” said public relations coordinator Nicole Staten. “His latest day at the airport is likely to be March 30th, so that might be the best day to book.”
The busiest days are March 28th, April 4th, and April 8th.
Expect long parking and security lines during high traffic hours. TSA reported an increase in the number of travelers this year. “I definitely recommend getting TSA pre-screening so you can get through the line faster. TSA is projecting a 6% increase nationally and that's what they report. ,” Staten added.
The airport says the parking lot is almost full or expected to be full.
