Comedy Central has ordered 10 episodes. golden ax, A new anime series based on Sega's popular video game. Produced by CBS Studios in association with Sony Pictures Television and Original Films; golden ax The voice cast is led by Emmy Award winner Matthew Rhys (American)Danny Pudi (mythic quest), Lisa Gilroy (jury duty), Liam McIntyre (spartacus) and Karl Tart (Grand Crew).
It's described as a hilarious and loving homage to the 1989 Sega video game series. golden axFrom executive producers Mike McMahon and Joe Chandler, veteran warriors Ax Butler, Tyris Flare, and Gilius Thunderhead must rescue Uriah from Death Adder, an evil titan who won't stay dead. It depicts fighting again. Fortunately, this time they have the inexperienced and unprepared Hampton Squibb on their side.
Rhys plays Gilius Thunderhead, a grumpy battle dwarf with very poor hygiene and a scar on his shoulder.
Pudi is a Hampton Squibb, a naive and inexperienced first-time adventurer who has dreamed of exploring all his life. He hopes his can-do attitude will compensate for his inability to actually do anything.
Gilroy plays Tyris Flare, a fearsome combat wizard who is deadly in battle and even more terrifying with his sharp wit.
McIntyre plays Ax Butler, a brutal warrior with a strict code of honor and the demeanor of a gentle golden retriever. His strength is greater than his brain, but his heart is greater than his strength.
Tart Kronos “Evil” Leight, originally Golden Ax IIIis a 100% ferocious humanoid panther. At least that's how Kronos describes himself. In fact, he's obnoxiously cheesy and unreadable.

McMahan (Star Trek: Lower Decks) and Chandler (American dad! ) Chandler will serve as showrunner and will co-write and executive produce the first episode of the series. Sega's Haruki Satomi, Shuji Utsumi, and Toru Nakahara (Sonic the hedgehog) will also serve as executive producers alongside the original film's Neal H. Moritz, Pavun Shetty, and Toby Asher. Great tit (big mouth) will serve as the animation studio for the series, with Chris Plinoski, Shannon Plinoski, Antonio Canobbio, and Ben Kalina serving as executive producers.
