Pac-Man Mega Tunnel Battle was originally released as a Stadia exclusive in 2020, but it seemed to disappear along with Google's gaming platform. But you can't hold back a good Pac-Man. Since then, he has crawled out of Stadia's corpse. His version of the arcade maze game Battle His Royale-inspired multiplayer, renamed Pac-Man Mega Tunnel Battle: Chomp Champs, will arrive on Steam in May.
Pac-Man Mega Tunnel Battle places 64 competing Pac-Man players in 64 connected mazes, allowing them to move between mazes via tunnels that usually lead back to the other side of the screen. In these mazes, after consuming power-ups, you can cannibalize rival Pac-Man until you are the last Pac-Man standing.
Other power-ups allow you to freeze enemies, increase your speed, or temporarily protect yourself from harm. In traditional battle royale style, mazes disappear from the edges of the map over time, forcing players to tunnel into each other's homes and consume their bodies. Pac-Man Mega Tunnel Battle continues another of his epic traditions in battle royales by providing Pac-Man with cosmetics that can give him things like funny hats and glasses.
Pac-Man Mega Tunnel Battle: Chomp Champs is coming to Steam on May 8th and features cross-platform multiplayer, so you can compete against your friends on Switch, PlayStation, and Xbox.
