A hit History Channel show is planning to film in Arkansas, and area residents will have a chance to star in the production.
American Pickers will be coming to the Natural State in June and is sending out requests for collectors to participate.
Associate producer Joshua Carlin said Collector will help determine the show's filming schedule.
“We are reaching out across the state and depending on the interest we receive, we will determine specifically where we will travel,” Carlin told the Gazette on Friday.
In a news release, American Pickers said the owners are looking for leads for unique items that are ready for sale. Only private collections will be considered. Stores, flea markets, shopping malls, auction businesses, museums and other items open to the public will not be considered, the release states.
To submit an item for review, you can email the owner's name, phone number, residence, and a description and photo of the collection. [email protected].
“American Pickers” follows a group of skilled “pickers,” including show creators Mike Wolfe and Frank Fritz, as they search for valuable antiques. They're on the lookout for rare items and “unforgettable characters” to look out for, according to the release.
“They hope to breathe new life into historically significant objects while learning a thing or two about America’s past in the process,” the release states.
