Traffic islands will be installed along South Point Parkway as a safety improvement, allowing left turns into driveways, but restricting through and left-turn traffic exiting side streets. The project is expected to be completed in August 2025. - Route 3 and Orange Plank Road: Utility relocation is underway in advance of construction to change the intersection of Route 3 and Orange Plank Road. - Route 17 (Mills Drive) Viaduct Replacement and Widening: Construction began in December 2020 to replace the existing two-lane interstate viaduct on Route 17 with a four-lane bridge. Route 17 is widened to four lanes to just east of the Hospital Boulevard/Germanna Point Drive intersection. As part of this project, shared paths, sidewalks and pedestrian crossing facilities will be installed.
