The Fallout TV show has been praised by critics and viewers alike, making the new Prime Video series a contender for one of the best video game adaptations of all time.
Fallout currently has a critic score of 93% on Rotten Tomatoes based on 73 reviews. In our own review, we said, “Despite its inconsistent tone and overcrowded story, Fallout is a game-accurate, wasteland-hopping, hilarious ride anchored by plenty of personality and punchy social commentary.” Quest is blowing away the competition.”
This near-perfect Rotten Tomatoes score means the show currently ranks No. 5 on the site's list of video game adaptations. Netflix's Arcane takes the top spot, but the only live-action title with a better score is The Last of Us.
Meanwhile, Fallout's audience score currently sits at 85%. “I've been waiting for this show for over 10 years, almost 2 in fact, and it definitely did not disappoint!” One fan called the show “the best series ever based on a game. “The locations, scenery, soundtrack, and CGI features are very well expressed.”
Another fan said: “I was transfixed. I couldn't stop watching. The growth of the characters and the depth of the world was just incredible. I can't wait for the next season.”
Set in the world of the 1997 Fallout video game series, the show follows Ella Purnell of the Yellowjackets as she enters Vault 33, a secure bunker where human populations have taken refuge since the nuclear apocalypse 200 years ago. She will star as the resident Lucy. A few years later. But when tragedy strikes, Lucy ventures into the outside world for the first time and must battle bandits, radiation, and worse. Also starring Walton Goggins and Kyle MacLachlan.
