The guy who topped the odds board at the beginning of the week will remain at the top of the odds board at the beginning of the weekend. World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler is one of three leaders at the 2024 Masters after 36 holes, but he remains the least likely to win the green jacket.
The 2022 Masters champion, who entered this week as the favorite with 4 wins and 1 loss, is now down to even money with 1 win and 1 loss. Scheffler, who is at 6 under par, is looking for his third tournament win in the final four games of the season, extending his lead by another 36 holes. He won't have to fight guys like Rory McIlroy or Jon Rahm, he'll have to fight Bryson DeChambeau or Max Homa.
DeChambeau had a great performance at Augusta National. He is listed at 9/2, and Homa will get his first taste of competing for a major championship at 5-1. A three-horse race could become a reality at Augusta National if all three perform well on Saturday, but there's still time for more competitors to join the discussion.
Collin Morikawa was just three spots back after 36 holes after consecutive rounds under par. The two-time major champion is hoping to add a third to his career Grand Slam ambitions after going 14-1. Debutants Ludwig Aberg and Nikolaj Hejgaard are also still eligible with 22-1 and 25-1 respectively.

2024 Masters Odds
favorite
Scheffler enters this week with the shortest odds to win a major since Tiger Woods in 2013. Comparisons to Scheffler, who won 15 major championships, may be misleading, but Scheffler's short sale price was justified. He arrived at Augusta National as the clear No. 1 in the world, with an ideal record of two wins and a runner-up finish in the past three tournaments. Scheffler led the field from tee to green and was above average on the greens. If your putter gets too hot, you might be done for.
Other favorites
- Bryson DeChambeau: 9/2
- Max Homa: 5-1
DeChambeau turned in a dazzling performance with an opening 65, commanding a first-round lead and was a lot of fun to watch throughout the two days. As his name gets into action, his price goes down heading into the tournament and those bettors are sitting pretty. Homa, on the other hand, flew under the radar and in some spots he scored as high as 70-1. He doesn't have the pedigree of DeChambeau or Scheffler, but he definitely has the game.
contestants
- Collin Morikawa: 14-1
- Ludwig Aberg: 22-1
- Nikolai Heigo: 25-1
- Cameron Smith: 35-1
- Xander Schauffele: 40-1
If you're looking for bang for your buck, this is the range to hit. There are a lot of interesting names to take a chance on, but the most intriguing are Smith and Schauffele. The 2022 British Open champion has a lead of just five places at 1 under and has the firepower to chase down the leaders in any condition. Schauffele had a steady performance with four birdies and four bogeys at even par in the first two rounds. If he is to be considered, he will need to capitalize on scoring opportunities at a more efficient clip.
long shot
- Tommy Fleetwood: 50 wins and 1 loss
- Cameron Young: 50-1
- Cam Davis: 55-1
- Matt Fitzpatrick: 80 wins and 1 loss
- Ahn Byung-hoon: 100-1
- Patrick Reed: 100 wins and 1 loss
When you see Fleetwood's name, you can't help but think of what he accomplished in major championships. The British player, who has clocked a final round of 63 seconds at two US Opens, including last year's at Los Angeles Country Club, has the makings to move up the rankings in a hurry. With only a back five, he might be worth a look.
