The good news is that Hollywood is paying attention to the video game industry. This is because there are numerous film adaptations in the works, some of which will appeal to fans of his Fallout.

Borderlands | August 9, 2024
Similar in tone and style to Fallout, Borderlands is receiving the movie treatment and is expected to be released as part of the summer 2024 blockbuster season. The film features an all-star cast including Cate Blanchett, Jamie Lee Curtis, Jack Black, Kevin Hart, and Ariana Greenblatt.
The story revolves around a motley crew tasked with rescuing a young girl who holds the key to unlocking unimaginable power. The film's trailer teases some intense action and some quirky characters the group will encounter and face off against along the way.
Bioshock | Release date undetermined
Another great video game that is perfect movie material is BioShock. This series has three of his games set in a dystopian future where humanity lives in an isolated utopian society. The first two of his games are set in the underwater city of Rapture, and the third takes place in the airborne city of Columbia.
The first BioShock game is being made into a live-action movie on Netflix, and while a release date hasn't been announced yet, the dystopian world could be exactly what Fallout fans are looking for.
God of War | Release date to be determined
Prime Video has proven it can deliver great video game anime adaptations, so fans can look forward to the streamer's upcoming God of War anime adaptation. Like Fallout, God of War has also been made into a television series, with Wheel of Time's Leif Judkins serving as showrunner, and the story is set in the Norse kingdom of Midgard, and follows the title character Kranos. Horizon Zero Dawn | Release date undetermined
Another Netflix animated video game adaptation is Horizon Zero Dawn. The series is directed by Stephen Blackman, who previously served as showrunner on the streamer's The Umbrella Academy. Blackman, a safe collaborator with Greek culture, plans to develop the adaptation as a TV series.
The game is set in an apocalyptic world where Earth has been taken over by robotic creatures, and follows a young woman named Aloy, an exiled hunter.
The Last of Us Part II | Scheduled for release in 2025
Speaking of already great video game adaptations, The Last of Us proved what could be accomplished, and then more. The first season was a success, and soon viewers will be able to watch season 2, an adaptation of his second book in the video game series.
Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey return to the show as Joel and Ellie, and the series is set several years after the shocking events of the first series.
Esoteric Season 2 | November 2024
Another upcoming sequel is the second series of Arcane, Netflix's acclaimed animated series that brings the League of Legends games to life. The next series has been confirmed to be released in November and will continue to follow Jinx (voiced by Fallout's Ella Purnell).
Death Stranding | Release date to be determined
Another hotly anticipated video game adaptation is Death Stranding, which reimagines Hideo Kojima's story for the big screen. The film has been confirmed to be produced by A24 and Kojima Productions, and will follow the story of a delivery boy named Sam Porter Bridges as he travels through a post-apocalyptic America with Bridge Baby.
The original game already featured an A-list cast including Norman Reedus, Mads Mikkelsen, Léa Seydoux, Guillermo del Toro, and Margaret Qualley. It is not yet confirmed whether any of these actors will reprise their roles in the live-action version.
Fallout will premiere on Prime Video on Thursday, April 11th.
