Streaming giant Netflix reportedly violated regulations by showcasing video games without permission. The Broadcasting and Electronic Information Authority has asked Netflix to stop in-app advertising and the publication of unlicensed video games.
The Broadcasting and Electronic Information Authority today issued a letter demanding that Netflix stop advertising and publishing unlicensed video games. If Netflix does not comply with the request, it will be subject to penalties under Vietnamese law.
The Department of Broadcasting and Electronic Information under the Ministry of Information and Communications has determined that through screening and inspection of online services, Netflix is promoting unauthorized video games to Vietnamese players on the Netflix application and video games on Appstore Vietnam and Google Play Store Vietnam.
