Artificial intelligence is playing a transformative role in data protection and security, not only strengthening defenses but also pushing businesses into unprecedented realms of productivity and trust.
The partnership between Palo Alto Networks Inc. and Google Cloud has played a major role in combining cybersecurity and AI as both companies strive to protect organizations' digital assets. As businesses navigate the complexities of their digital environments, implementing AI-powered security solutions has become essential.
Munish Khetrapal (pictured), vice president of Google Cloud at Palo Alto Networks, said: “We have platformized security. We want to protect our customers as they move to AI. We can create a lot of value.”
Khetrapal spoke with theCUBE Research analysts John Furrier, Rob Strechay, and Rebecca Knight at Google Cloud Next 2024 during an exclusive broadcast on theCUBE, SiliconANGLE Media's live streaming studio. They discussed the partnership between Palo Alto Networks and Google Cloud and how it is a breakthrough that will revolutionize the approach to cybersecurity by leveraging AI and cloud technology. A new AI paradigm
More than just a technological advancement, AI is a new paradigm for business. According to Khetrapal, the transformative power of AI positions it as an unparalleled productivity catalyst.
“This is a common conversation we have with customers every day,” he said. “Our focus is on protecting AI. We leverage AI to deliver better security. One of the biggest use cases for AI is in cybersecurity. ”
The discussion centered on the critical role of AI in addressing the pressing challenges of trust and security in AI deployments. By combining Palo Alto Networks' security expertise with Google Cloud's superior infrastructure, this collaboration aims to bring confidence and strengthen security to enterprises embarking on AI deployments. This multi-billion dollar initiative represents tangible investments to foster a secure AI environment.
“This is primarily for disconnected networks, defense networks, and sovereign cloud infrastructure, and we have embedded our next-generation security platform, our Zero Trust platform, across the capabilities that allow our customers to deploy AI,” Khetrapal said. said, referring to newly released Google data. Cloud infrastructure in partnership with Palo Alto Networks. “You don’t necessarily need to be connected to the cloud or the internet to develop AI capabilities.”
Delivering trust through end-to-end security outcomes
Palo Alto Networks and Google Cloud are participating in joint engineering efforts and integrated solutions aimed at delivering end-to-end security outcomes. With more than 50 co-designed integrations, the two companies are combining their strengths to deliver a comprehensive security solution that seamlessly traverses cloud environments and protects critical assets, Khetrapal said.
“I don’t think the proof for us is the fact that we’re growing 100% or that we have 25 different products. [it] That means customers deploying to Google Cloud infrastructure want to protect themselves,” he said. “You don't wake up in the morning and say, 'I'm going to buy a better firewall.' You wake up in the morning and say… 'I want to introduce new applications and improve my supply chain.'”
Real-time security powered by AI-powered insights promises proactive threat identification and mitigation. This symbiotic relationship between AI and security represents the pinnacle of innovation, and both Palo Alto Networks and Google Cloud are at the forefront of helping drive this transformation.
“That's exactly where we announced our autonomous AI product in partnership with Google,” Khetrapal said. “We use a lot of Google Cloud infrastructure, BigQuery infrastructure. That's the foundation for creating good AI. If you have good data and good models, you can have good security. . That's what we're doing with our SecOps platform.”
