Ending on a really strange note, there is a glitch that has been patched into the Read Dead Redemption: Undead Nightmare long after the game's original release. While Red Dead Redemption itself has always been a popular game, many players fondly remember the Undead Nightmare DLC as a great addition to an already great experience. In this mode, instead of the usual Western, John Marston is thrown into a zombie world where he has to help survivors and find a cure. Due to the popularity of the original game and its DLC, Rockstar Games has been constantly monitoring the franchise, releasing hotfixes and updates for various issues from time to time. However, in 2014 (four years after its initial release) a patch was added that added a game-breaking bug to the DLC “Undead Nightmare”. A series of glitches began to corrupt the game, causing NPCs to become increasingly distorted, use guns, and do various other strange things. Enemies became invisible, cougars constantly respawned and could not be killed. It was a mess.

In the end, fans were disappointed that Rockstar seemingly went bust and abandoned “Undead Nightmare,” completely ruining the game for anyone who downloaded the latest patch. As recently as 2024, players are still wondering if this glitch has been fixed. It may be too late for his Xbox 360 version of “Undead Nightmare” and his PS3 version, but players are relieved to see that his Switch port is in much better shape.
