CASS COUNTY — Local government leaders will discuss how they can implement artificial intelligence into their operations.
As part of the Local Government Artificial Intelligence (AI) Symposium, elected leaders from across the metro met with heads of various departments to discuss the opportunities, challenges, and need for caution in the use of AI in a non-technical way. Cass County Government will host a discussion April 23 from 8:30 a.m. to noon in the Bison Room of the Cass County Annex.

It was at a session on AI in Washington, D.C., that Grindberg learned that many local governments nationwide were beginning to explore the impact of AI on society and its capabilities as a tool.
“For me, it was an aha moment,” Grindberg told the forum. “This seemed like a no-brainer to move forward with this discussion (in Cass County).”
He will work with the county's IT department to invite other municipalities in the metro to the table to consider how AI can be used to serve taxpayers more efficiently and to We got the ball rolling by considering what the impact could be and deciding what policies were needed.
