The Franklin Institute of Technology softball team visited Wacona in Turners Falls early Monday morning.
The Eagles scored four points in the first inning and four more in the second to take an early 8-0 lead. Tech held on from there, as Hannah Gilbert allowed just six hits and had 13 strikeouts, giving the Eagles their lone season-opening victory, 12-4, at Nancy Gifford Field.
