Airports in North Texas are preparing for huge crowds for the spring break travel season. DFW Airport officials said they expect to welcome a record 4.6 million travelers this spring break.
But on Saturday, some travelers heading to popular spring break destinations were hit with cancellations.

According to AAA Texas, they're not alone. Topping the list of spring break destinations for Texans this year was Florida.
“We're going to Disney World in Florida for spring break,” Lindsey Dixon said.
However, Southwest Airlines announced that flights to the Sunshine State were affected today due to thunderstorms in the Southeast. According to the airline, about 160 flights were canceled as air traffic control restricted operations due to the storm.

AAA Texas also announced that overseas travel for spring break has increased from last year. International bookings rose about 20% in March and April, according to AAA data.
