WrestleMania 40 is fast approaching. If you've been following WWE for the past three years, this show, like almost every storyline during this period, revolves around his one family, Bloodline. The extensive family tree of Samoan wrestlers goes back decades and includes members of current undisputed champion Roman Reigns, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Yokozuna, Rikishi, and many others. I am. In an industry full of famous families, Bloodline is perhaps the biggest family dynasty in the history of professional wrestling.
That got me thinking about similar family trees across video game fiction, and wondering if there's anything in it that could stand head-on with lineage. I have gathered some worthy clans. We never get to see them face off against the Roman clan for supremacy, but we can at least guess who will earn the right to be recognized.
Kong Family – Donkey Kong
Donkey Kong threw its first barrel at players in 1981, establishing itself as an icon and staple of the medium. Since then, Nintendo's famous ape has proliferated into a vast family tree of children, grandchildren, nephews, and romantic partners of his own clan, all united by the name Kong. If you add up all the Kongs that have appeared in games, comics, promotional materials, and the Donkey Kong anime series, you'll have enough to fill several barrels. If you can't remember the members, the infamous DK rap can serve as a title call. However, if this conflict escalates into a rap battle, Roman's cousins, The Usos, will soundly defeat the Kongs.
Belmont – Castlevania
Similar to Bloodlines, the members of the Belmont family in Castlevania have made a name for themselves by being extremely good at the same job: killing Dracula. This lineage of legendary vampire hunters (though they are equally adept at taking down all manner of supernatural threats) has been around for centuries better than anyone to throw a whip or throw holy water. I've been throwing things. The cruel irony is that their main enemy, Dracula, is more closely related to them than the latter Belmont family realizes. Due to the generation gap, we don't often see the Belmonts working together, so no matter which member faces Roman, they end up in a Cody Rhodes-like scenario where one person represents the family, which puts them at a huge disadvantage. may be placed in
Nurse Joys/Cop Jennys – Pokemon
One of the longest running gags in the Pokemon anime was that each town had its own Nurse Joy and Police Officer Jenny. They are not the same person, but identical-looking members of his two dastardly hordes of doctors and law enforcement officers. It's hard to believe that one family can consist of dozens of clone-like siblings, cousins, first cousins, etc. Especially not two people. If Bloodline is just multiple copies of Roman Reigns, only his wise man Paul Heyman (who ironically plays the role of Brock) can discern subtle differences like the length of his eyelashes or the whiteness of his teeth. Imagine if you could. One-on-one Nurse Joy is too comfortable to fight, but Officer Jenny is always willing to scrap. Additionally, her omnipresent Arcanine can counter the inevitable Solo Shikoa encounter.
Desmond Miles' Genealogy – Assassin's Creed
This is interesting because these are descendants rather than direct family members. However, given that Desmond's most famous ancestors, Altair and Ezio, are centuries apart, one would assume that there are countless relatives in between for his lineage to survive to this day. Thanks to the Animus' advanced scientific magic, stabbing Templars in the neck has become a genetic trait rather than a learned profession. Bloodline will probably only have to deal with Desmond, but thanks to the science magic of the Animus, he'll be able to channel various skills of his ancestors (i.e. being very good at stabbing and climbing things). Masu.
The Phase – Ace Attorney
From an outsider's perspective, the Ace Attorney series appears to be all about winning and dissenting cases, but the series is steeped in paranormal phenomena. Phoenix Wright's leader was Mia Fay, a prominent defense attorney and generational medium. After Mia's death, her bubbly sister Maya becomes Phoenix's longtime sidekick, and players encounter even more Fae relatives throughout the series. There are nine known members (all women, as only women can learn the clan's spiritual medium skills), but we can imagine a structure with a “main family” and several branch families made up of “lower” siblings and their relatives. is expected to be much larger. The Fays may be able to summon the spirits of Roman's deceased compatriots to play an effective psychological game. After Cody Rhodes' claim that Roman and Rock's grandfathers would be ashamed of their shenanigans, the Feys could easily confirm this. However, the Fay family is not immune to internal turmoil, willing to resort to murder to climb the hierarchy, and bloodlines may exploit the schism.
Aquat Family – Psychonauts
Wrestlers may not be in Raz's family, but circus performers are the next best thing. Known by the stage name “Flying Aquatos,” Raz's close (and very large) family excelled at aquatic acrobatics until an aquatic-related family curse derailed their act. Bloodlines could easily take advantage of this by having the match take place on a literal island of relevance, causing years of trauma for Raz and his family. On the flip side, it would be a fascinating platforming stage for Raz to get inside Roman's head and explore what turns him on. You may find a lot of baggage collections related to Royal Rumble 2015.
The Coopers – Sly Cooper
Sly Cooper was destined to become a master thief from the moment he was born. That's because he's the latest in generations of well-intentioned thieves. The Cooper family is probably the oldest family on this list, as they've been pulling off heists since somehow dating back to the Ice Age and when dinosaurs roamed the earth. As far as we know, the Coopers invented the very concept of stealing and, just like in Bloodlines, were able to devise sneaky ways to extract victory. Additionally, thanks to the introduction of time travel in the fourth film, they were all able to be present during the match. Win or lose, one thing's for sure: there's no way the Coopers won't walk out with Roman's belt, either by hook or by some cleverly executed crook.
