WYOMING, Mich. (WOOD) — You may not be able to see this week's “Student of the Week” in front of the camera, but she prefers being behind the camera.
Kaylee Guarcas is a senior at Wyoming High School and is very involved in her school.
She takes photos and does marketing for the college soccer team, so you might see her in the school store. She is one of the student managers.
In addition to getting straight ass, Guarcas also participates in leadership community programs through the school district. This group works to make each school a better place for students.
Guarcas says she likes reading, watching movies, and taking photos.
In fact, her dream job is photographing and marketing the Real Madrid soccer team.
For Guarcas, being able to take photographs is a way to record history.
“I really enjoy taking pictures. As a sophomore, I played soccer as part of something that didn't involve actually being on the field. Honestly, it wasn't my thing, but… I felt exactly the same when I was outside. It was so much fun because I was able to capture the moment through their photos,” Guarcas said.
She is currently enrolled in Grand Rapids Community College's middle school program and is working toward earning an associate's degree while still in high school. She then hopes to transfer to Davenport University and earn a bachelor's degree in marketing.
