From Senior Resource Alliance
As seniors' use of the internet and social media continues to increase, the Seniors Resource Alliance (SRA), Central Florida's regional agency on aging, has partnered with Perez Technology, a leading innovator of cybersecurity solutions in Orlando. We partner with groups to protect local seniors from disasters. cyber threat.
Largely due to the pandemic's impact on access to telehealth appointments and the need to connect with loved ones virtually, older adults are rapidly adopting technology, ultimately increasing their risk of fraud. To combat this, Perez Technology Group donated his 5,000 downloads of the newly released cybersecurity app Cyber Fence to protect local seniors.
“Senior Resource Alliance's top priority is to protect seniors from the dangers of cybercrime, so we are extremely grateful to Perez Technology for this generous donation,” said SRA President and CEO. Karla Radka said. “Employing technology is key to our mission to help older adults age independently and safely. But as older adults continue to increase their digital presence, the risk of cyber threats increases. This app will help seniors navigate the digital environment safely and securely.”
CyberFence is a user-friendly app that blocks malicious cyber threats and encrypts sensitive data and information, allowing seniors to use technology with confidence. CyberFence was developed by Perez Technology Group, a leading cybersecurity and managed IT company in Central Florida. CyberFence's donation is valued at $25,000.
“CyberFence was created to combat the growing number of cybersecurity threats from enterprises to small businesses to everyday users,” said Carlos Perez, president of Perez Technology Group. “We are extremely proud to help protect seniors in our community and value our partnership with the Senior Resource Alliance.”
SRA plans to roll out CyberFence app licenses for free to local seniors in Orange, Osceola, Seminole, and Brevard counties throughout the spring of 2024. Seniors, their caregivers, and loved ones can apply for the free Her Cyber Fence app at www.seniorresourcealliance.org/cyberfence/. .
