While March was relatively slow for new video game releases, April will be the first month of 2024 without a major new triple-A release. While we're all patiently waiting for news about the PS5 Pro, Switch 2, and all-digital Xbox Series We have a lot.

It's been a great year for side-scrolling action games. Tales of Kensela: ZAU April of this year. Developed by Surgent Studios for EA Originals. Kensela's story is a Metroidvania game that follows Zau, a warrior shaman, who makes a deal with the Grim Reaper to bring Baba back from the darkness. Along the way, he gains cosmic powers that he can use to run, jump, and glide through the world while defeating his enemies.
Saga Emerald Beyond

Akia Toriyama's 2000 Manga sandland It will be made into an open world action RPG in April of this year. You play as Beelzebub, and along with your friends Lao, Anne, and Thief, embark on a journey to find a legendary spring in the endless desert. Along the way, Beelzebub and his companions unlock skills and abilities that they can use to fight the enemies that roam the world.
stella blade

Most of the new games coming out in April are multiplatform releases. stella blade It's the only big PS5 exclusive. This fast-paced action-adventure is the first console title from developer Shift Up, best known for his mobile games. In Stellar Blade, you play as a soldier named Eve who travels from his colony in space to take back Earth from giant invaders. It has some Souls-like elements, but combat is more focused on stringing together combos while dodging and parrying enemy attacks. A demo version is available on the PlayStation Store.
