Hey everyone, we're back with answers to frequently asked questions for this week's Video Game Tuesday. This is the whole reason I don't use scores in my blog posts.
Score?: I don't give a score unless it's a serious review that appears in GiN's Game Reviews or Book Reviews section. If I had a choice, I wouldn't give a score at all. Because frankly, that's not a great metric. Everyone is at least positive about some games and negative about others, unless there are major gameplay issues that make them unplayable at all.
That doesn't mean the score is meaningless. For example, I'd give a game a lower score if the graphics weren't very good, the audio glitched, or there were weird bugs like looping voice lines. However, it always happens that some people like some games and others dislike them. I generally prefer works with good stories, but that's not always the case.
Therefore, I don't use scores in blog posts because what I like and enjoy may be different than what others enjoy. I try to leave those things out of my reviews as much as possible, but no one is perfect, and I certainly am not perfect. That's it for this week's Video Game Tuesday.
