“The back-to-back WNBA champion Las Vegas Aces announced today that season ticket memberships for the team's 2024 season are sold out, making them the first team in WNBA history to sell out their season ticket allotment,” the website states. .
The Aces are currently the winningest team in women's professional basketball. Last season, the team won its second consecutive WNBA title. If they succeed in scoring the third point, the Aces will close in on the Houston Comets, who easily won this tournament four years in a row from 1997 to 2000.
At the time, women's professional basketball was in a slump. Since the WNBA was launched in 1997, its teams have battled for traction with fans and sponsors who tend to dismiss women's sports.
However, women's basketball has made remarkable progress recently. Last season, average attendance at WNBA games increased 16% from the previous year.
