“Continuation” cruise for golfers
Villa Vie Odyssey has created a new luxury experience for golfers on its ongoing residential world cruise, visiting 147 countries across seven continents starting in May of this year.
For $399 per day, golfers can choose their own adventures at exotic golf courses in Ireland, the Scottish Highlands, the Netherlands, the Baltic Sea, Iceland, Greenland, Canada, New England and more.
Onboard, sailors receive private lessons in a golf simulator from a PGA professional, giving them unlimited practice opportunities. Each “golf trip” is up to two weeks in length. For example, the “Kingdom of the Netherlands” part of the trip, the “Beauty of the Baltic Sea” part from Copenhagen to Warnemünde, Germany, allows him to play six courses each on three consecutive legs from London to Copenhagen. Or the “Golffjord” from Warnemunde to Reykjavik in Iceland. There are six additional courses on the voyage from Canada to New England. Other options include outboard tours with fewer courses but perhaps even more spectacular. For more information, please visit: Golf section of website.

Scotland's new golf resort
We always get excited when golfer-friendly accommodations emerge overseas. We've all stayed at funky B&Bs and quirky hotels that don't offer what golfers need. Things like an early breakfast option, a place to store your golf clubs, an elevator to drag your clubs to your room, and a drying area to organize your rain gear after your game. A wicked rainy day. If it's a really cool historic venue, you can sometimes forgive the lack of modern comforts. One hour from Edinburgh, the new SCHLOSS Roxburghe has made its 2023 debut in a fully renovated property operated by Destination Hyatt. This restored mansion hotel has added 58 new guest rooms, a spa, and 12 two-bedroom cottages. The adjacent 18-hole championship golf course, set among rivers and forests, is highly rated on GolfPass. A review from June 2023 says: “Great course with great greens in great condition. You have to hit the fairways to score well. Lots of bunkers so you have to speed up some parts of your game. Great picturesque A signature hole. A must-play course if it's within the borders. ”
