When games cost as much or more than movies, it's natural for video games to trend toward sequels, remakes, and remasters. That's obvious to people like the CEO of Microsoft. That doesn't mean we don't want to see more risk. More diverse video games are coming, not only in the indie field, but also in large-scale productions. And it looks like such an opportunity is just around the corner.
The first game by Yellow Brick — the studio founded in February 2020 by Dragon Age series creative directors Mike Laidlaw, Thomas Giroux, Jeff Skalski, and Frédéric St-Laurent B. — has received its first teaser . The 68-person team game, which is yet to be named, will be fully revealed next month with a release date of 2025..
According to Laidlaw, the game is an adventure and action game set in a fantasy world. His intention is to do something new, and although he is aware of the issues plaguing the industry today, he is optimistic about the possibility of “taking our destiny into our own hands” .. So, we still have to wait a little longer to know all the details, but we can already appreciate the exciting teaser of this new game. And I pray for Yellow Brick's soul.
