I love places that make me feel nostalgic. And Arizona has a unique brewery specifically dedicated to the video games we all played from childhood (well, maybe this only applies to a few of us) ,nevertheless). Welcome to 8 Bit Aleworks. A local brewery inspired by video games from the era of 8-bit technology.
Have you ever reminisced about your childhood in a place filled with 8-bit video games and wished you were an adult and wanted to taste some beer? If you answered yes, try 8-bit Aleworks. I have to go to Avondale to visit.
Add some video game decorations to the classic video games you can play, and you might feel like you're part of your own video game. The beers this brewery makes also take inspiration from 8-bit video games. How cool is that?
So which beer will be the first to be inspired by an 8-bit video game? How about a Final Fantasy-esque White Mage (witty) or Black Mage (brawny)? And then there's Hopsassin's Creed (you can probably guess the video game inspiration behind this one), Legend of Zymur (double IPA), and Princess (peach IPA), just to name a few.
If you want to try some craft beers here, you'll have to order a flight ticket. And see how it looks. After that, you'll probably want to play Super Mario Bros. — I sure do!
My favorite video game as a kid was Ms. Pac-Man on the Atari game system. That's it here. He also doesn't mind drinking a glass of his BFC (Oatmeal Cookie Pie Barleywine) from 8-Bit Aleworks while playing.
The brewery has a regular selection of beers on tap. And the tap handle is a video game controller!
