While climate change technologies may weaken; 90 percent Of the global emissions in 2050, investment By the same year, approximately 270 trillion euros. It is important that capital is properly allocated, and the industry is working together to ensure that building climate technology companies have all the resources available to succeed.

How did Climate Brick get started?
The story behind Climate Brick really shows the power of collaboration, but it's not the first thing that comes to mind when you think of a competitive field like investing.
Malmberg explained:
“Ed and I run a climate tech business and meet with three to five founders every day.” Investors will be asked the same questions by founders every day.
“We have one worldview, but other investors have a different worldview, just like when something is new.”
point nine SaaS funding napkin It served as an inspiration. However, climate tech does not have standards. There is no common perspective or opinion.
“vinegaro We want us as investors, and more importantly founders, to spend our time on what matters, rather than debating what a seed round is, or whether it's an A or B round. I decided to provide the world with some kind of framework or manual so that it can be done. Certain types of climate change companies.
The climate goals we have set for 2030 and 2050 leave plenty of work to do without debate. ”
in pairs I spoke with friends within the climate investor ecosystem. Then we brought in McKinsey and now, almost a year later, we're launching a great project on climate change starting tomorrow.
What is a climate brick?
Seven bricks have been created covering seven different climate technology initiatives, identifying key milestones and success factors for unlocking scale and impact.
Giga scaling For companies building large, capital-intensive plants for established green production, such as green steel, batteries, and synthetic fuels.
Green development For companies that operate, deploy or own green assets such as solar power, wind power or battery parks.
Assets as a service For companies realizing green assets through software/technology platforms such as micromobility and electric vehicles as a service.
product confusion For companies optimizing their product value chains through green design and engineering, including electric aircraft, equipment, and gadget transport vehicles.
New technology For companies developing innovative technologies that revolutionize industries such as carbon capture and new materials (food, cosmetics, agriculture, healthcare, etc.).
moon shot For companies launching innovative science that changes the way entire sectors work, such as nuclear fusion and quantum computing.
Companion software For companies that provide hardware-enabled software, including software for exploitation, optimization, and BMS/grid management.
Each business profile (called a brick) has a unique risk profile, recommended capital stack, and roadmap for scaling your business.
The bricks indicate the necessary milestones that need to be reached at different stages of the company.Founder For example, you can see what kind of revenue you need to target, what types of offsets, what percentage of production you need to consider, and who your key adopters are.
Investors can use this brick when evaluating companies. But they It is also a tool for policymakers to enable companies to stay and expand in Europe, as well as large companies with other sources of funding and potential sources of funding.
Although it is still early days for the implementation of climate change bricks, Persson said:
“Climate change bricks are appealing not only to experienced climate technology investors, but also to casual investors who are completely new to this world. And one of the ideas about this product is that all investors I think it's about the archetypes and founders meeting and agreeing on one framework.”
Persson believes North Star's goal is to help more climate technology companies scale faster.
“But one step down from that is the usage of bricks, which can mean different things to different parties. For investors, these templates can be used for example for founder financing. We hope it will be used as a tool in investment committee presentations and investment papers.”
Malmberg believes the project's greatest accomplishment is bringing people together.
“Everything you need to collaborate is built into the model. In software you basically have equity investors and founders, but here you have 20 more stakeholders. If you're not good at collaboration, you're going to struggle. It will be.”
with records 43 percent With global climate change technology venture capital investments set to roll out to Europe in 2023, stakeholders believe now is the perfect time to launch such an initiative.
And this is just the beginning. Climate Brick is a community that continues to be developed collaboratively by its members through events, social media, data collection, and research detailing.visit www.climatebrick.com Join us to learn more.
