The second round of the 2024 NBA Playoffs is in full swing, and all series are in the spotlight. On Monday, the top-seeded Boston Celtics defeated a Cavaliers team without Donovan Mitchell in Cleveland, taking a commanding lead in the series 3-1. Despite being in control for much of the game in front of their home fans, the Dallas Mavericks lost to the Oklahoma City Thunder, ending the series with two losses.
The Indiana Pacers and New York Knicks begin Tuesday's game at 8 p.m. ET at Madison Square Garden. It was the Pacers' second straight win in the series, following New York's opening two wins. The undermanned Knicks will try to halt an untimely slide, and the Pacers will look to take the series lead.
The road team has won all four series against the Minnesota Timberwolves and reigning champion Denver Nuggets, which will be featured in Tuesday's nightcap. The Nuggets looked out of whack during their 2-0 loss to Minnesota, but the three days between Games 2 and 3 gave them a chance to rebuild. Now, the Wolves need to turn things around or risk facing elimination at home in Game 6.
The postseason field started with 20 teams. The Warriors, Kings, Hawks, and Bulls were eliminated from the play-in tournament, and the Pelicans, Suns, Clippers, Lakers, Heat, 76ers, Bucks, and Magic were all eliminated in the first round.
