Star Wars video games have been around for almost as long as the iconic Star Wars movies, allowing players to travel through a galaxy far, far away for decades. Some seek to recreate the films, others offer new stories set elsewhere in the Skywalker Saga canon, and still others seek to carve out their own corner of the galaxy. .
There's certainly no shortage of games to choose from, but now that Star Wars: Jedi Survivor is here, we've used the Force to narrow down our list to the 10 best Star Wars games of all time. .

10. Star Wars Dark Forces (1995, MS-DOS, MAC)
When we think of first-person shooters from the '90s, Doom and Quake are often the most well-known, and it's easy to see why. Still, Star Wars: Dark Forces is another of the best first-person shooters to come out this decade.
What Dark Forces lacked in multiplayer features, it more than made up for with solid graphics for the time and excellent level design that provided a good challenge throughout. Knights of the Old Republic 2 is as much about Obsidian as it is about Star Wars. It is definitely unfinished and the final release will be full of bugs. Still, the film continues to captivate fans, who have lovingly restored much of the cut content while addressing its flaws. The latest addition to the LEGO Star Wars series and a return to its roots, The Skywalker Saga is supposed to be (and in some ways it is) the first Star Wars video game. This is the only game where you can play as nearly every character in the Star Wars universe and play through all nine major movie storylines. In some cases, slight changes are made to the story to add context or fill in gaps between episodes. The reinvented combat mechanics and the addition of voice acting may be off-putting to old-school LEGO Star Wars fans at first, but they're welcome changes to the formula that make things feel fresh. The graphics, updated with next-gen hardware, look great while maintaining his beautiful Lego art style and comedy. 3. Star Wars: TIE Fighter (1994, Microsoft Windows, DOS, Macintosh, Classic Mac OS)

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor picks up where Fallen Order left off, reuniting players with Cal Kestis, one of the greatest Star Wars protagonists of modern times. As the old adage goes, if it ain't broke, don't fix it. Jedi: Survivor maintains the same satisfying exploration and combat introduced in Fallen Order, but with improvements to make these elements even better. This is certainly the most played Star Wars game in a long time, and the best way to experience the true Jedi powering this side of the galaxy.
Additionally, with the story and characters already established, Survivors will be able to deeply embed Cal and his friends into the larger Star Wars mythology. It really feels like it's only a matter of time before we see Cal jump into a Star Wars show or movie.
1. Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic (2003, Xbox, PC)
And of course, no list of the best Star Wars games would be complete without mentioning Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic. Set thousands of years before the events of the film, Knights of the Old Republic was special in that it offered fans of the series a completely different perspective on the Star Wars universe.
While the other games on the list certainly added depth to the Star Wars lore, Knights of the Old Republic brings this fictional world to life with rich additions to the galaxy as we knew it at the time. You can fully immerse yourself.
Nothing quite fulfills the promise of becoming a Jedi across the galaxy, embarking on an epic space adventure full of memorable locations, quests, and interesting characters like KOTOR.
That's why, 20 years later, Knights of the Old Republic is remembered not only as the gold standard of the RPG genre, but also as the pinnacle of Star Wars video games. It's so good that a remake of Knights of the Old Republic is currently in production.
